Whether you’re managing leaks, juggling a never-ending to-do list, or just trying to stay one step ahead of your bladder, what’s in your bag becomes less about style and more about survival.
So, we’ve rounded up Jude-approved, life-on-the-go essentials we swear by. These are the real deal - the things we’ve packed, shared with friends, and quietly thanked ourselves for remembering when a ‘trickly’ moment inevitably comes our way!
Leakproof Knickers and ‘Just in Case’ Pads
Let’s be honest: having the right foundations can make a huge difference to our confidence. That’s why the first item in our bag is always a pair of Jude’s leakproof pants. They’re discreet, comfy, and designed to keep you dry and worry-free. Add a pad or two for those just-in-case moments and we are sorted for anything unexpected - even more so when we’re travelling or going on holiday. It’s not just about preparing for the worse, it’s about handling whatever comes our way - easily.
Pumpkin Seeds and Cranberries for Snacking
We all love a secret snack in our bag to keep energy levels up and hanger at bay. But rather than a chocolate bar that can trigger our bladder, we like to pack a little pot or sealable bag of pumpkin seeds and cranberries. Both are great for looking after our bladder - the magnesium in pumpkin seeds helps support the pelvic floor (and our mood), while cranberries give our bladder a bit of extra love. Plus, they’re an easy, no-mess snack that won’t melt into the bottom of our bag like that long-lost Twix…! (Who are we kidding?!)
Our ‘Get Fresh Quick’ Kit
You’d be amazed how many times this comes in handy. A mini pouch with a couple of reusable wipes and a small bottle of hand sanitiser can turn a grim toilet stop into something manageable. We love to carry Wype’s gel for feeling fresh (and have spoken about it before on the blog), but there are lots of similar products on the market including Luna Daily, too. Whether we’ve found ourselves dashing to the loo after an ‘oops’ moment in the park, or just want to feel a bit fresher after a full day out, the ‘get fresh quick’ kit is an essential!
Jude’s Supplements
While we usually take our supplements in the morning and evening, these are first in our bag if we are on our travels. And let’s face it, sometimes our morning routine goes to pot with kids and pets and before we know it we’re in the car kicking ourselves for forgetting!
If your morning routine is likely to go sideways with kids or pets that need walks, you can maintain your routine by popping a few of these into your bag to have on the go as soon as you get that “AH! Supplement!” moment. And the good news is that these clever little capsules don’t take up much space at all, while helping us to nourish our bladder.
A Reusable Water Bottle
We get it - you’re experiencing leaks, so why are we drinking MORE?! In fact, as counterintuitive as it may first appear, staying hydrated is key to a happy bladder.
Dehydration can actually make things worse, so keeping a refillable water bottle with you is one of the best habits to get into. We love our Jude water bottle! Plus, it’s kinder to the planet and a simple reminder to put yourself on the priority list - sip by sip.
Squeezy App on Our Phone
Hands up - who forgets to do their pelvic floor exercises?! Yes, us too - but the Squeezy app changes that. It gives us a gentle nudge and a clear routine, so we’re not just guessing if we’re doing them right.
And the best bit? You can do them anywhere - no one will ever know.
Radar Key or ‘I Can’t Wait’ Card
When we’ve got to go, we need to go now — not after explaining ourselves or searching for ages. That’s why we always carry a ‘Cant Wait’ card in our bag, which helps us to navigate tricky moments when we’re feeling a bit self-conscious or in a busy place. Another thing that can help those of us struggling with incontinence is a RADAR key, which can give access to accessible toilets around the UK. These might seem like small things, but they can restore dignity, reduce stress, and make everyday outings feel far more manageable.
So there you have it - whilst not as glamorous as the bags featured by Vogue, these items make a huge difference to living our lives on our own terms.
